William is 10 months old!

Thursday, February 19, 2015

William turned 10 months old on February 10th!  He is feeling much better than when we was 9 months old with a cold.  He is taking his bottle a little better and still drinks 4 bottles a day.  He loves to eat.  He eats turkey, chicken, grilled fish, soft fruits, breads, mild cheeses, baby teething snacks and veggie packs.  He LOVES bread and any type of bread as long as it's soft bread.  I think he can eat that all day if we just sat there and fed him like a bird.  Actually he is exactly like a bird in many ways.  He eats bread like a bird and makes these loud annoying squawking sounds like a bird.  He hoots and yelps, but that's really the only sounds he makes that are loud.  He's saying Ma Ma and Da Da and Ga Ga and loves to just mumble and talk to himself.  He also likes to mimic Lydia's sounds which can be good and bad.  He absolutely loves to hold your fingers and walk.  He has no interest in crawling or moving on the floor with his body except to scoot on his bottom while sitting up.  He still hates tummy time and flips over on his back immediately.  He will grab your fingers and pull himself up and start walking and just laughs and laughs about it.  He has 3 teeth with 2 more on the way in and they really bother him.  He drools a lot and you can tell he is in pain with them so we try to help him out the best we can.  He really is such a good baby and still sleeps his 2 naps for 2 hours each and all through the night.  He smiles and laughs and everyone says what a happy baby he is...such a joy to be around.  We all couldn't agree more.  He is so smitten with Lydia and knows her name when we say it.  He will look around wondering where she is and wait for her to come into the room and smile big and kick his legs when he hears her.  It's very sweet.  He loves playing with her and really studies her and what she's doing.  They are going to be great playmates.

Aspen/Snowmass Ski Trip - Just the Two of Us

Wednesday, February 18, 2015

Blair and I went on a lovely trip to Colorado to go skiing.  I hadn't been in 7 years and he hadn't been in 8 years.  He is a much better skier than I by far.  I stay on the greens (and I mean it, no easy blues) and he likes to go way above that.  But we ride up the lift together ski down separately and then meet at the bottom and do it again.  It was a perfect easy trip.  We flew right into Aspen and the hotel shuttle picked us up and the hotel was a ski in and ski out resort.  I absolutely loved it there!  Everything was so easy to get to and it wasn't crowded at all.  We didn't have to wait in line for anything...to ski, to eat, to rent gear, to travel, nothing.  It was an awesome trip!!

We took the free shuttle to Aspen and had an early dinner there.

The next morning we went skiing!

Stopped in Snowmass Village for lunch.

Drinks by the fire after it snowed and we skied.

Cowgirl/Cowboy - Need I say more?

William turns 9 Months!

William turned 9 months on January 10th.  Unfortunately he caught one nasty cold around that time.  Since Lydia didn't get sick until she was 2 years old, I didn't know how to deal with a sick baby.  We made it through after days of a runny nose, bad cough and not eating or taking his bottle.  He went about a week without taking his bottle or any liquids.  He ate food just fine, and I was so happy to get in any liquid of any kind.  It was a little stressful but one night he finally took 7 ounces down and I was so relieved.  It was uphill from there.  He loves to eat solids and still isn't too thrilled about his bottle.  The doctor said if he gets 16 ounces a day that it's ok so that's what I aim for.  Other than that, he's really good and sitting up on his own now.  He smiles a lot and laughs a lot.  He is a joy to be around.  He's gotten 3 haircuts before 9 months.

January Events 2015

New Year's Eve at our house was very casual and relaxing.  We played Catch Phrase with Mary and Brendan and then called it a night.

Lydia and I went to brunch together at House of Pies and ate at the counter.  This was special because I usually stay home with William while Blair takes her out.  And this was her first time to sit at the counter.

Even though Christmas is over for now, she loves coloring Christmas pictures with me.

Ah Huckleberry...he is one lazy puppy that I love snuggling with.

Kiernan loves ballpits!!  Not sure why no one else would get in with her, but she was happy playing by herself.

I was so jealous that Lydia and Daddy got to meet the real BEVO in our own neighborhood down the street!  He was visiting a Silver Spur and was in town for the bowl game.  It was a rainy day but that doesn't stop the Longhorns.

Sleeping Beauty aka Princess Aurora aka Briar Rose (pick a name already!) came to Lydia's friend's birthday party and she was soooooo excited to meet her and sing, talk and dance with her.  She was even more into it once I told her that Maleficient wasn't there.

On another Sunday afternoon Lydia and I went to the Galleria to run an errand and decided to take a break and get a cookie and watch the ice skaters.  We happened to be there just as Elsa was performing on the ice...what luck!  She didn't start eating her cookie until after Elsa finished out of respect.

On another gorgeous weekend, we had a Princess Picnic out front.  The weather was awesome!

Honey's Birthday!  These two little ones hugged on each other and Eloise took her first steps on Honey's birthday!

Lydia made the cake and put on LOTS of sprinkles...I hope Honey likes sprinkles, the girls sure do.

SNOW DAY in Houston at School
Lydia loved it and they were out there for 45 minutes playing and she didn't get bored at all!  This leads us to believe we could take her skiing next year and she would have a blast...still debating this thought.

Kiernan on the other hand stood in the grass and played in the snow as if it were sand and then at the end of her 15-20 minute playtime she started eating it.  Mom-Mom and Pops thought is was funny since they had inches and inches of snow up in Albany, NY.

These two love watching each other and playing together.

William Blair Arterbury's Baptism - December 29, 2014

William was baptized on a Monday at St. Michael's Catholic Church.  His godparents are Uncle Paul, Uncle Grant and Aunt Kacey.  Everyone of the family was there to celebrate and he did pretty good considering it was during his nap time and then his lunchtime.
