William is 6 Months!

Sunday, October 12, 2014

William is 6 months and he has really grown out of being a premie for sure.

Height: 26.5" (44%ile)
Weight: 16 lbs 10.5 oz (33%ile)
Head Circumference: 16.73" (25%ile)

William's likes:
Food!!! He has tried avacados, bananas, green peas, squash and carrots. He has liked them all and really learned how to eat with a spoon pretty quickly.
He still loves being outside and we are all looking forward to the cooler weather coming up.
He likes bouncing and swinging.
Chewing or biting on pacifiers (not sucking) and on teethers.
He likes his space suit (magic Merlin's sleep sack) for naps and bedtime. He is sleeping from about 8:30-7:30 on average. He is taking two big naps in the crib and one short nap before dinner in the swing or stroller.
He has really become find of Lydia and just being around her. She plays with him, sings to him, and performs for him and he loves all of it. He will giggle and laugh uncontrollably when he is with her. This helps a lot when he gets fussy.
He has rolled over from his tummy to his back twice now but hasn't rolled onto his back yet. He really likes rolling from side to side on his back.
He likes sitting up and watching people. The Dr said he is about one week away from sitting up on his own.
He likes baths now that we are taking them in the big bathtub. We are usually in and out in less than 3 minutes and he has never complained.

William's dislikes:
Wet diapers
Tummy time...still
Someone scaring him or surprising him (Lydia)
Hiccups
Being held while you are sitting down and not moving
He doesn't like getting off schedule. He really sticks to his schedule of eat, play, sleep and gets a bottle every 3.5-4 hours. He is up after eating for about 2 hours and then sleeps for about 2 hours.

Lydia Pics

Wednesday, October 8, 2014

Very rare napping during naptime. This picture is just so sweet.

After school play time with Charlotte. I thought of this activity all by myself!

Lydia and I stayed the night with Mary and Kiernan while Brendan was away. It was a nice girls time. After sleeping in the same bed as Lydia and getting T-boned all night, she did the sweetest thing. When she woke up in the morning she thought I was still sleeping and leaned over in my face and whispered "I love you Mom". It made the sleepless night worth every minute.

This guy was there too snuggling up.

The next morning we took Kiernan for a ride in our wagon. We stopped to watch workers build a house. They were distracted by all the noise.

One Sunday afternoon, Honey took all the girls for a double decker bus tour of Houston and they got to sit on the top!
The highlight according to Lydia was that they went right by the church that Blair and I got married in. Lydia kept telling us that after she got home.

Early Saturday morning birthday party at a great playground. They had lots of donuts for all! Lydia wouldn't let me hold her bag of donut holes to slide down the slide (probably because she knew I would eat them all).

Uncle Brendan and Aunt Mary have an awesome neighbor who has this amazing tall long swing!
Higher Uncle Brendan, HIGHER!!!

Lydia's First Day of School - late posting

Sunday, September 21, 2014

Lydia started school on September 2nd as a Green Gator (Pre-Pre K).  This year there are 15 kids and 2 teachers each day.  She goes 5 days a week and takes Gymnastics after school on Mondays and ballet after school on Thursdays.  She loves going to school and going every day!  So does this Mama!
This year, Kiernan, started as a Teddy Bear on TTh and Charlotte is in Lydia's Green Gator class!  So exciting for everyone!

Sitting up...sort of

Friday, September 19, 2014

William sort of sat up by himself today. I wasn't going to count it, but he took such cute pictures that I had to post.

William is 5 months

Friday, September 12, 2014

Wow how time flies...but the days are super long. William has been doing great! He now eats 6-7 ounces every 4 hours and 8 ounces before bed. So that's 4x a day he eats. He sleeps from 8:30 - 8:00 on average. Sometimes we don't get him down until 9 and sometimes he wakes up at 7 or 8:30.
He loves it when Lydia plays ice cream shop with him, which is just when she disappears behind a chair and pops out with pretend ice cream for him. He laughs uncontrollably.
He has a big smile and has kept the dark blue eyes so far.
Everyone says he looks just like his daddy, but Blair's family says he looks like my side, so who knows.
He's trying to sit up on his own but hasn't yet. William rolled over from front to back the other day but I haven't seen him do it since and he rolls from side to side when he's on his back. He also just started touching and grabbing his feet...more flexibility.
He does like rice cereal and ate it from a spoon very quickly.
Last time we went to the doctor a couple of weeks ago he weighed 14.5 lbs.

We love him!!

Labor Day Weekend

Wednesday, September 3, 2014

Last minute we decided to go to the Astros game (literally at the last minute after a trip to the Natural Science Museum was a bust).
Lydia and William (who slept through the entire thing) went to their first game.
Lydia had a great time and loved clapping and yelling for the Astros. But I really think her favorite was getting a helmet full of ice cream.

I love this picture...

We started off the day at the Museum of Natural Sciences but the line to buy tickets was at least an hour long. But Lydia did get to ride the dinosaur in the lobby.

Our Annual "encysive" Trip

This year we went back to Galveston for our annual trip with these guys. It was a very relaxing weekend and only our second time away from both kids.

Of course we had to stop at the new Buc-ee's on the way down there.

Great times with these guys as always

At dinner that night...

William realizes his good looks

I'm just hanging out playing...whoa, who's that good looking boy?...wait it's me and man I'm really handsome!

William's first swim day...

He is saying "quit laughing Mom, I'm trying to be serious"

4 month stats for William

Sunday, August 17, 2014

Height: 24.63" (24%)

Weight: 13 lbs, 8.5 oz (12%) but gestational percentage is 50% since he was 4 weeks early

Head circumference: 15.87" (13%)

He eats every 3-4 hours during the day, 5x a day at 6 ounces each time. Sometimes he doesn't finish it all but he is sleeping through the night... so I'm not worried.
The doctor says he is doing wonderful and to keep up the good work.

DISNEYLAND!!!

Yes, we went to Disneyland in Anaheim, CA for a day.  We woke up at 5am PST and drove there in the dark.  We didn't tell her we were going until the morning of.  She was so excited but wanted to make sure we were NOT going to Maleficient's castle from Sleeping Beauty.
We were able to do so much in the morning before our lunch reservations at Ariel's Grotto.  It was truly magical.  We had some tour guides that showed us what to do, how to do it and when to do it.

Sleeping Beauty's castle

 It's A Small World ride

Teacups!!

Dumbo ride

Lydia's smile all day long was so worth it all...

Kiernan got to meet Goofy

How many Princesses can you meet in one morning?
All the characters were just amazing and really took the time to talk with Lydia.

Her dream come true...to meet Anna and Elsa

Tinker-bell and Illuminessa were there too!

And of course Belle...

We ate lunch at Ariel's Grotto.

We sang Happy Birthday to Kiernan at lunch...a couple days early...she turns 1!!

And she slept for most of the drive back to San Diego...
