Our First Road Trip with Lydia - Austin

Wednesday, March 30, 2011

We took our first road trip with Lydia to Austin this weekend.  We left Saturday and came back Sunday, so it was a quick trip.  We took some pictures in the bluebonnets and with the Hendersons.  We also visited my friend, Julia, and I'm sad I didn't take any pictures with her.  I blame it on the "Mommy-brain".
Lydia was so good on the car trip there and back and we were very happy.  Before this weekend, her longest car trip was downtown to my office.  She slept for 2 hours and the 3rd hour I sat in the back with her to entertain her.  She's eating every 4 hours now, so we planned it just right with her new schedule both ways to and from Austin.
It was the first time we've ever slept in the same room as her.  Didn't know she kicks really loud in her sleep all night long now.  We are very glad she's in her own room at home.
Jack was so good around her and took to her really well.  It was fun and very relaxing for us all.

It's Bluebonnet season in Texas!  It was so hard to get her to look at the camera let alone smile.
This one is my favorite of the two of them...planned marriage? Maybe?

Lydia's Baptism

Thursday, March 24, 2011

Lydia got baptized this past weekend.  It was a really nice little ceremony and we were grateful the church let us do it on an off weekend so everyone could attend.
She looked so cute in her gown and bonnet.  She did really well and didn't cry at all.  She laughed when the Deacon was baptizing her with the water.  He said he went to the River Jordon in January and brought back some water from there which he baptized her with, so that was really neat and special.

Naps, Teeth and Walks!

Saturday naptime has been something I look forward to...A LOT.  Naptime is great and everyone in the house relaxes.  Lydia and I usually take our Saturday morning nap together and Harley joins us too.  This is the only nap we take together and I LOVE it!

So we have TEETH!  Lydia's teeth are already coming in and she's drooling like crazy...notice the bib and drool.

We are too cool for school.  This is our daily after-work walk with Daddy and Harley.  Lydia loves her sunglasses and we get many comments from our neighbors on the walk.  She loves being able to see everything.

Here we all are playing before bedtime.  She loves petting Harley - I have a feeling they are going to be BBFs.

Lydia's shopping day

Tuesday, March 15, 2011

We went to Nordstrom's for a ladies lunch with Nana last week.  It was so much fun, after we ate at the restaurant, we hung out in the Ladies lounge and Lydia ate, and then we went into some stores and Lydia tried on some hats and sunglasses.  She loved the sunglasses, so of course we had to buy them for her.  Her cheeks help to hold the sunglasses up and on :).
Hopefully, for her Daddy's case, she doesn't turn into a shopper like her Aunt Mary.

Lydia's Exersaucer

Monday, March 14, 2011

The other weekend we moved out our glass coffee table in the den and Blair built her Exersaucer.  We have so much more room now to play with her on the floor.  She is rolling over a lot now since February 28th.  I guess we've become those people that change an entire room to be dedicated to toys, swings, bouncers and blankets for their children.  At least we have a living room that is totally "adult" - well, expect for the baby swing.
She's been loving the outdoors and we try to take walks everyday as a family.  Harley doesn't like it so much since she always is being told where to go, but Lydia loves being in the Bjorn looking out at everything.  She also really enjoys the swing on the tree in our backyard.
Today some other Moms are coming over to hang out outside with their kids - and of course drink some much needed wine!

Mummy's 31st Birthday

Friday, March 11, 2011

Well it definitely isn't about me anymore now that I'm a Mom.  My 31st birthday was still relaxing and just what I wanted...a nice dinner with our parents.  We went to Taste of Texas and I had a yummy steak, then my Mom made the most fabulous red velvet cake!  It was truly the best we've ever had.  My Mom took some good pictures at my birthday dinner, but notice they are all really of Lydia :)  Ha ha, my have things changed in year.  Who remembers my wild 30th birthday from last year? - I don't!

I still had some much needed wine on my birthday.

Notice my steak is still on my plate because Lydia gets to eat first.
My candle just went out before this picture was taken with my complimentary dessert.
After dinner and cake, Lydia was so tired.  We gave her a bath and put her (and her out of control hair) to bed.

Last Weekend

Sunday, March 6, 2011

Last weekend I took my first girls trip after the baby to Las Vegas for a Bachie party.  It was so much fun and definitely needed.  Blair was amazing and watched Lydia the entire weekend.  They really bonded and did so much together.  Everytime I talked to him, he was really enjoying it and she was laughing in the background.  I was so grateful I could go and have fun and know that Blair and Lydia would be alright.  I'm sure Harley helped Blair out a lot too.
I truly missed Lydia, Blair and Harley so much.  After we got back to the hotel room Saturday night and we were all getting into bed, I stayed up and went through all the pictures on my phone of Lydia because I missed her so much.
On Sunday when I was coming home, Blair dressed her in a cute rodeo outfit.  I couldn't wait to get home and hug them all!!
