San Diego Trip 1 of 3

Saturday, August 9, 2014

So we came home from Philadelphia on a Tuesday and left that next Sunday for San Diego!  We went with my parents and Mary, Brendan and Kiernan.  We stayed at Mel and Rosemary's house like we did 2 years ago when Lydia was 18 months.  We got to enjoy and do so much more since she's older now. For the first couple of days, my parents watched William a lot so we could take Lydia out to experience new things.  The weather was beautiful.  We went to La Jolla 3 days in a row.  We just fell in love with the beaches, streets and views.

Another successful trip on the airplane.  We are waiting for Grandpa to pick us up at the airport and bring us to the BIG cottage.

The next day we went to the "Children's Pool", but ironically the seals took over and there's no children swimming.  Lydia's new thing was to make this pose every time we asked her to smile for the camera.

Lydia and Daddy playing in the sand...I think we all know about my fear of sand and glitter (you can NEVER get rid of it...it stays around forever), so I watched from afar.

Back at the Big Cottage (Mel and Rosemary's house), William loved being outside in the California weather.  We ate out here every night.  Each night one of us makes dinner.  Our night we had stuffed raviolis and tomato/cucumber salad.

The next day we went back to La Jolla but to a different beach so Lydia and Daddy could swim.  She loved the beach!  She met new friends, playing in the sand and she overcame her fear of waves.
William, Grandpa, Nana and I just walked the boardwalk up and down...it was pretty pleasant in the shade and William slept the whole time.
Lydia built this sand city...what she called it.  Yes, the pose is still happening.
